Udzbenik: Metodika nastave matematike, autori: Velimir Simonovic, Dubravka MIjuca, izdavac: Zavod za udzbenike, Beograd, godina izdavanja 2011
To teach Mathematics well one must have a real interest in the subject along with a strong grasp of mathematical ideas well beyond the level at which one teaches. In addition, one must have a good understanding of how young people learn and think about mathematics, what their questions and problems are at different stages of growth. How one combines these skills and understandings in the classroom will depend on the individual teacher for as George Polya, a well-renowned mathematics teacher once wrote: "Teaching Mathematics well is not a science, but an art."
We use language to understand our world through listening and reading, and to communicate our own feelings, needs and desires through speaking and writing. With strong language skills, we have a much better chance of understanding and being understood, and of getting what we want and need from those around us. Mathematics is the language of modern science, technology, engineering and finance. It is a language that is both beautiful and fascinating in its own right.
